What We’ll Do

In this 2-day hands-on, small group Workshop, Tim Barker will guide us step-by-step through building an extremely efficient rocket powered oven

We’ll begin by learning about the fascinating principles of the rocket stove, and then move through the practical steps of actually building one together.  Using easy to access materials such as bricks, clay and reclaimed steel barrels, this rocket stove design has a rustic charm and is super-efficient, fast-heating and extremely practical.

Expect to have fun, to be inspired and to leave this weekend workshop with the confidence and knowledge to build a rocket powered oven in your own backyard.  Back at home you’ll need just a handful of common tools, some salvaged materials and your new tinkering skills.

The workshop includes a free copy of Tim’s eBook The Rocket Powered Oven: How to build your own super-efficient cooker, plus Tim’s Appropriate Technology Student Notes.

Bring your own lunch for Saturday and pizza toppings to share for a Sunday lunch rocket pizza feast (pizza bases, sauces and cheese will be supplied).  Morning and afternoon teas are included on both days.

Free DIY unpowered camping (in your own tent, camper trailer or vehicle) is also included on Saturday night for those who’d like to stay.  Please bring everything you need to be fully self-sufficient (toilet, shower, water, food, etc), and leave no sign that you’ve been here.  Alternatively, there are many accommodation options 10 minutes away in Toowoomba.

Don’t miss this very special opportunity.
